happy happy halloween.

earlier this month, we decorated the classroom for fall.  thanks to everyone who came to help out!  hope you have a great weekend!  no homework :)

locked out no more.

friday was a little out of the ordinary.  i came to school, got to my classroom, stuck my key in the lock, and nothing happened...doorknob was broken!  soooo, we had to relocate each of my classes that day because we couldn't get in. thank you all for being understanding as we moved to other locations around the school to have class!


on friday, we did test corrections (try, try, try again) and then started simplifying radicals (also known as square roots).  today we added and subtracted radicals.


homework: 
1st and 3rd: board work (you wrote this down on a separate sheet of paper)
4th: Add/Subtract Radicals WS #7-12

test time.

tomorrow you take the Unit 2 Mid-Test (4 standards will be tested: MM1A2 c, MM1A2 d, MM1A2 f, MM1A2 g)


homework: get a parent signature on your review and STUDY, STUDY, STUDY!

congrats 3rd period.

3rd period won the 9-week class competition.  on friday, we celebrated with snacks, pizza, and ice cream sundaes and watched the movie Rio.


on Monday, we'll start the class competition once again.  who will be the next 9-week winner???

review factoring.

today we reviewed each of our factoring methods.  you will take your "show me what you know..." tomorrow on factoring (MM1A2 f)!

gcf. grouping. x-factor. special products.

today we looked closer at factoring special products, and then spent the rest of the class period reviewing each of our factoring techniques: GCF, grouping, x-factor, and special products.  for the quiz on friday, you will need to be able to know when to use each one!


homework: Review: Factoring #6-12 (none for 1st period due to the PSAT)

today we continued factoring trinomials using the X-FACTOR!  we will practice this more tomorrow.


homework: notetaking guidebook p. 88-89 #16-24 (just factor!)

today we worked out of our notetaking guidebook as we looked at factoring by grouping.  we will be factoring tomorrow and all through next week!

homework: p. 102 (even only)

no quiz tomorrow!  we will have a big quiz next friday over factoring!!

greatest common factor.

the next two weeks we will be factoring polynomials.  factoring is a very important part of algebra! today we started factoring by GCF.
